The men I dealt with were dismissive of me and kept asking to talk to my husband 🙄 and were extremely difficult to communicate with. I needed the kitchen removal done quickly and between initial call and completion was 72 hours. Clean up was excellent and demo crew were brilliant.

How Industrial Machine and Equipment Removal Runs

Walk the plant. We map the route out before anything else: door widths, ceiling height, floor loading, turns and where a truck can back in. That route decides whether a machine leaves whole or in pieces.
Get the isolation done. Power, compressed air, steam, hydraulics, process lines and any control systems have to be locked out and isolated by the right trades before disconnection starts.
Check for residuals. Oils, coolants, hydraulic fluid and process chemicals inside a machine have to be drained and handled properly, not tipped.
Disconnect and detach. Anchors, grouting, base plates and services are released, and the machine is separated from its foundation.
Rig and move. Skates, gantries, forklifts or a crane depending on the weight and the route. Where a machine cannot leave whole, it is cut down in planned sections.
Clear the footprint. Bases, pits, plinths and redundant services are removed, and the floor is left clean and ready for whatever goes in next.

What to Settle Before a Plant Clear-Out

Machinery removal lives or dies on the planning. Before a date is booked:

Weight and dimensions of every item, and whether it can leave whole
The route out, including floor loading and any structure that has to come out to make room
Whether equipment is being scrapped, resold or relocated, which changes how carefully it is handled
Residual fluids and process chemicals, and who is handling their disposal
Whether the plant keeps running around the work, which usually means nights or a shutdown window
Concrete bases, pits and plinths that stay behind once the machine has gone

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you remove equipment while the plant is still running?

Often yes, with the work zone isolated and hoarded off and the noisy or disruptive stages scheduled for a shutdown window, a night or a weekend. It needs planning with your maintenance team so lockout and access line up.

What happens to the machines?

That is your call and it changes the method. Scrap is cut down and the metal goes for recycling. Equipment being resold or relocated is disconnected, rigged and moved with a lot more care, which takes longer and costs more. Tell us which at quote stage.

Do you take out the concrete bases too?

Yes, if you want the footprint clear. Machine plinths, pits and anchor blocks are broken out, the redundant services are removed and the floor is made good enough for the next installation.

Who handles the oils and coolants?

They have to be drained and disposed of through the proper stream, and that is agreed before the work starts. It is not something to discover on the day, so bring it up early and it stays a line item rather than a delay.
