Commercial Building Clear Out

We recently wrapped up a commercial building clear out project that pushed our team to adapt fast and work smart. Every space in this structure had a specific use. Some rooms came with plumbing, others were wrapped in tile or concrete, and all carried live electrical systems. We took down the main floor, cleared out a web of small utility rooms, and also removed the staircase. We removed the doors and kept them intact for reuse or recycling.

Our professional commercial building clear out meant switching tools and tactics room by room. A lot of the rooms had different materials, which required specific equipment. Room by Room

Nothing in this Toronto building was the same twice. Some rooms had plumbing, some were finished in tile over concrete, all of them had live electrical, and a web of small utility rooms sat behind the main floor. The client wanted the whole main floor and the staircase out, and asked that the doors be kept intact for reuse.

So the crew changed method at every doorway: deconstruct and set the doors aside first, strip drywall and fixtures where the walls were light, switch to breakers and dust suppression where the finishes were tile and concrete, and use the scissor lift for the high sections. Utility rooms were cleared last, once their services had been isolated, and the staircase came out at the end when nothing else needed it.

Debris was separated by material and hauled to an approved facility, with the doors stacked for the owner.
