Commercial Unit Teardown

We tackled a full commercial unit teardown, starting with 2 main floor rooms and extending to the hallway, stairway areas, and a smaller adjacent room. The project involved removing walls and flooring to open up the space. Every wall we took down had metal rods and mesh, so careful demolition was needed around plumbing and electrical systems.

We used sledgehammers, wheelbarrows, buckets, shovels, and other tools to clear debris and remove materials safely. As part of our team demolishing this commercial unit, the floors and walls were stripped and the space was left ready for whatever comes next. How the Kitchener Teardown Ran

The brief was to open up the main floor of an occupied commercial unit in Kitchener so it could be rebuilt for a new tenant: two main rooms first, then the hallway, the stairway areas and a smaller room off the side. The constraint was what was inside the walls. Every partition we opened had metal rods and mesh in it, and the plumbing and electrical runs were live and staying, so nothing could be knocked through blind.

The crew worked wall by wall with hand tools and power saws rather than bringing a machine into the space: mark the services, cut the mesh, strip the cladding, then pull the framing once the pipes and wiring were exposed and protected. Flooring came up after the walls so the debris route stayed clear. Loads went out in wheelbarrows and buckets to the truck, and everything left the site for an approved facility.

The unit was handed over stripped to the structure, with the plumbing and electrical intact and the hallway and stairs clear, ready for the fit-out contractor.
