Aging outbuildings can quickly become structural liabilities and eyesores. For this project, our team was called in to execute a complete detached garage demolition in a lush, residential backyard. Tucked beneath mature trees and sitting close to property lines, this partial residential demo project required precise, careful planning to ensure the surrounding landscaping and fencing remained completely untouched.
Because of the tight access and the need to protect the client’s property, we opted for a systematic, hands-on deconstruction method rather than bringing in heavy machinery. Our crew tackled the structure from the top down. We began by safely stripping the old, degraded asphalt shingles and dismantling the roof trusses. As seen in the project photos, taking the roof off first allowed us to safely expose and remove the heavy wooden structural beams and wall framing piece by piece.
All debris was carefully managed and contained on the existing concrete pad to prevent yard damage. We loaded out the lumber, roofing materials, and scrap, leaving behind a perfectly swept and intact concrete foundation ready for the homeowner’s next project. Whether you need a full teardown or a complete site prep service, ALMAR Demolition has the expertise to handle structures in tight spaces.
